Requesting a Transcript for Dual Enrollment
GAFutures
- When you apply for Dual Enrollment, request your transcript through GAFutures.org. Login to GAFutures and choose the MyTranscript option. You will need to use ScribOrder in two situations: (1) the college you are applying to isn't a Georgia school or (2) you do not have a Social Security number on file with Fulton County Schools.
ScribOrder
If your school is not a part of the University System of Georgia (like Auburn and Embry Riddle) or if you do not have a Social Security Number in the Fulton County Infinite Campus database, please read the instructions below and request your transcript through ScribOrder.
Make sure you attach a parent photo ID to the request unless you have already turned 18. At 18 years of age, you can request your own transcript.
If you are requesting a Gwinnett Tech transcript, use the Special Instructions box to type in the DUAL ENROLLMENT address where you need to send the transcript.

Georgia Tech Distance Math/General Dual Enrollment
Georgia Tech's main option for Dual Enrollment is through distance math or distance computer science classes that are held in conjunction with local high schools. Georgia Tech's admissions process occurs later than all of the other schools. Students must follow the Dual Enrollment process to participate in Georgia Tech Distance Calculus, so high school forms are required by March 31st. This means you must apply through GAFutures by March 31st and complete the Fulton County DE form. However, Georgia Tech typically opens their online application on May 15th so you won't be able to apply to GT until then. Their application deadline is June 15th. They will release admissions decisions for fall applicants in July after they receive AP scores.

Dual Enrollment FAQ
Dual Enrollment FAQ
What classes are offered during the summer, fall, and spring for DE students?
Georgia State University (GSU) and Gwinnett Technical College (GTC) offer a variety of classes during all semesters. Georgia Tech (GT) only offers Computer Science during the summer, and for fall and spring, they have more limited course offerings than GSU and GTC. Colleges typically release their schedule of classes for each semester a couple weeks before registration opens; please reference each college’s academic calendar for the release date. There are other college options, but the student would be responsible for investigating the process, following through with all the details on their own. We have a close relationship with GSU, GTC, and Georgia Tech because they are near our school.
Are PSAT scores accepted for admission?
Each college has their own admission requirements; please check each college’s DE admission website for more detailed information. Per Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC), 10th graders must have minimum SAT or ACT scores to take academic DE courses. Please reference https://www.gafutures.org/hope-state-aid-programs/scholarships-grants/dual-enrollment/eligibility/ for further details. At Innovation, it really is best to do dual enrollment during the 11th and 12th grade years because funding is limited.
Can you apply to multiple colleges for DE?
Yes, you can! However, it really is best to stick to one option rather than trying for multiple schools. It is a lot of paperwork and processes to do more than one. Please make sure to check each college’s minimum admission requirements before starting the application process. There’s no point in applying to a school where you do not meet their minimum admission requirements.
How can I find out if Innovation Academy has my student’s SSN?
Students should create a profile on www.gafutures.org, making sure that their full legal name, SSN, address, and high school are 100% accurate. Then through that profile they should check their HOPE GPA and if they can view it, then their SSN is in our system. If they get an error message, they should first double check that all fields mentioned above are accurate and if they are, then the student can reach out to Ms. Samantha Feldschneider in the Counseling Office.
Can a student take a DE class and a FVS/GAVS class over the summer at the same time?
Yes, as long as the total number of high school credits does not exceed 2.0.
Where in my Innovation Academy schedule will my DE classes fit?
Students should be scheduling their classes at the beginning or the end of their school day. Dual Enrollment should be done off campus, unless it is through one of the on-campus options or with Georgia Tech Math – these are the only exceptions.
Where will the Dual Enrollment Information Night presentation be posted?
The presentation will be posted on the Dual Enrollment Canvas page as well as the Counseling website.
What are my options for satisfying my Economics graduation requirement?
There have been changes to the dual enrollment Economics course. Starting Summer 2025 and beyond, there is only one College Economics that will satisfy the high school graduation requirement. If you have already taken Economics through Innovation, then you can choose any Economics to take as an elective credit. The classes that will meet the Econ graduation requirement are:
- Personal Finance and Economics – in person at Innovation
- FVS or GAVS Personal Finance and Economics
- AP Microeconomics / AP Macroeconomics at Innovation (scheduled yearlong)
- ECON 1101 through Dual Enrollment, or another approved option where the Ga Futures course directory lists the high school course equivalent number as 45.061000.
Is the DE application the same for summer class versus fall/spring class?
Yes, the application is the same no matter what you select as your beginning term. Keep in mind if your start term is Summer 2025 and you intend to continue in the same school in Fall 2025, you do not need to submit two separate applications. It is one application per school year.
Can you access your DE summer class if you travel internationally?
Because there are too many unknowns with this type of situation (internet access, log in expectations, software requirements, etc) and since college professors have a lot more freedom with how they run their courses and what they expect, we strongly advise against this. Students who intend to travel internationally in the summer may take courses through GAVS as they allow international access with a VPN.
Are parents allowed to come to the DE help sessions that are offered?
Only students are permitted to attend the DE help sessions; however, if parents have certain questions they would like answered, they are welcome to send them with their student or attend a parent Q&A session that may be offered.
If I have completed 9th Lit and 10th Lit, what DE classes can satisfy my remaining English graduation requirements? Can I take ENGL 1101 and ENGL 1102 and be finished?
Recent changes in the state curriculum allow for ENGL 1101 and ENGL 1102 to count for high school graduation requirements for the 11th and 12th grade band of ELA coursework. American Literature (ENGL 2130) is no longer a graduation requirement for the state of Georgia.
Are DE students still considered students at their high school?
Yes, all DE students (both part-time and full-time) are still considered students enrolled at their high school. They also have all rights and privileges - including participating in all sports, clubs, events, etc. - as traditionally enrolled high school students do.
What is the cost of taking college courses at the college vs. at Innovation Academy?
Students may incur expenses for course related fees and supplies required for a particular course or optional fee charged by the postsecondary institution. If the post-secondary institution provided the textbooks through a lending program, the student may be charged a lost or damaged book fee, up to $75 or the cost of the book, whichever is less, if the book is not returned in the required condition.
How many hours will be paid for by the Dual Enrollment Funding Program?
The Dual Enrollment Funding Cap is 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.
What courses are available?
Approved courses include:
Core academic areas (English, math, science, social studies, and world/foreign languages) used in the high school HOPE Scholarship calculation or, Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) courses aligned with the GaDOE Career Clusters and Pathways. The Ga Futures Course Directory lists all eligible courses by participating post-secondary institutions. Course categories such as fine arts, physical education and health are no longer eligible for Dual Enrollment funding.
Can a student retake or withdraw from a Dual Enrollment course?
Effective Summer term 2020 (FY2021), a student may not receive funding for the same course twice. Courses taken Summer term 2020 or later cannot be retaken and receive Dual Enrollment funding.
How many classes are required to be full-time DE?
Students must take 12 credit hours (typically 4 classes, each at least 3 credit hours) at the college in order to be classified as full-time DE. If a student only has 11 hours with four classes, they are required to take two additional high school classes. DE Funding will cover tuition for up to 15 hours.
Can students take a course at the college level that they’ve already taken at the high school level and earn core credit?
No. If a student takes an introductory-level college course and has already taken the same course at the high school level, the college course can only count for high school elective credit. Example: Student took Government in 9th grade, if they take POLS 1101 in college, which is also Government, then the college course would count towards elective credit for high school purposes. Also, if a student has taken an AP version of the course (ex. AP Psychology), they could not take the same course at the college level (PSYC 1101). They could take a higher level of the course (ex PSYC 2130), however students would need to send their AP scores to the college to meet the required pre-requisites.
How many Carnegie units (high school credits) does each college course earn?
College courses that are 1 to 2 credit semester hours earn 0.5 Carnegie units. College courses that are 3 to 5 credit semester hours earn 1.0 Carnegie unit. Thus, if a student takes a 3-hour College US History course, that gives them credit for the full year and 1.0 credit of high school US History.
How do college grades transfer to the student’s high school transcript?
College grades transfer as A = 95, B = 85, C = 75, D = 70 (D’s are passing at the college level, so they’re given our lowest passing grade), and F = 60. If a student takes a college course that is 3 hours or more, they will earn 1.0 Carnegie unit which is the equivalent of 2 high school semester grades earning 0.5 Carnegie unit. If a student withdraws from a course and receives a W from the college AND does not replace the course with something at the high school, a W will appear on the student's high school transcript. If a student receives a grade of a WF from the college, the WF will show as a 60 on the high school transcript.
Do DE students have to take EOC’s?
DE students taking Biology to satisfy their high school Biology graduation requirement must take the EOC. If a student has already taken Biology to satisfy their high school Biology graduation requirement and they choose to take College Biology as an elective, they do not have to take the EOC.
American Lit (ENGL 2130) at the college will NO LONGER be required to complete the End of Course Test at the high school.
Will students need to request their college transcripts be sent to their high school for their college grades to be entered on their high school transcripts?
Typically, counselors receive the transcripts, however, if it is not sent by the college then the student is responsible for bringing a copy of their official transcript to the high school.
How does DE impact students’ future HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship?
College courses taken through DE do not count toward a student’s HOPE/Zell Miller hourly caps at the college level. Grades earned through DE do not count toward a student’s HOPE/Zell Miller maintenance GPA that must be maintained at specific checkpoints while in college. However, grades earned through DE are reported on a student’s high school transcript, so they do count toward a student’s initial HOPE/Zell Miller GPA (i.e. a student’s final high school GPA that may qualify them for the HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarship as they enter college).
Will DE grades transfer to a student’s future college?
DE grades earned at a University System of GA (USG) school are guaranteed to transfer to any other USG school. Most public schools outside of GA will accept transfer grades from USG schools as well. Some DE grades earned at a Technical College System of GA School will transfer to USG schools - see attached chart. However, students should always check with their future colleges to confirm their DE courses will transfer. Colleges will typically have transfer tables available on their websites for students to confirm transferability. You can also use the also use the GATRACS Transfer Student Planner to check to see how courses will transfer to your future college.
How do students send their DE grades/credits to their future college?
Students must request their transcript from the college through which they’re participating in DE to be sent to their future college for their grades and credits to transfer. Their future college will not transfer their grades and credits solely from their high school transcript. High schools are unable to send college transcripts to a student's future college.
